Dit boek stelt dat de ervaring ons de nodige gegevens geeft om de fenomenen te verkrijgen en te voorspellen. Er wordt onderzocht hoe een bepaald type gegevens op een bepaalde manier moet worden verkregen. De fenomenen in de microwereld zijn onderworpen aan statistische regels en er is geen andere manier om gegevens over de fenomenen te verkrijgen dan uit ervaring. Als feiten kunnen worden verkregen door middel van statistische regels, waarvan wordt aangenomen dat ze dat kunnen, betekent dit dat we niet op een andere manier feiten kunnen verkrijgen en dat we ze niet op een andere manier kunnen voorspellen. En als de feiten definitief kunnen worden voorspeld, in de macrowereld, dan is het impliciet dat de verschijning van de feiten, zoals die door de ervaring is waargenomen, definitief is en moet worden vastgesteld. Deze tekst legt uit dat we geen bepaalde logica van de wetenschap kunnen uitvinden of ontdekken voor de ervaringsfeiten en deze in alle gevallen kunnen gebruiken voor alle gegevens die we ooit zouden kunnen verkrijgen. In plaats daarvan volgen we gewoon de ervaring in de manier waarop we gegevens ontdekken.
