Das vorliegende Buch befasst sich mit dem Problem, die Existenz und Stabilität der Gleichgewichtspunkte im elliptischen Problem der eingeschränkten Dreikörper zu ermitteln. Es hilft auch bei der Analyse von Lagrange-Punkten, das sind Positionen in der Umlaufbahnebene der beiden massiven Körper, an denen der dritte Körper eine stabile Position beibehalten kann.
