Darling Godmother is an example that betrayal cuts deep and pain wears many masks. A Dark Psychological and twisted Thriller that keeps you thinking.1983, Texas Life on the Alexander ranch seems peaceful to most, but it is anything but, being the only girl raised with brothers and a single father in a lower-income family. Nova mostly shoulders the crushing responsibilities on the Alexander ranch her brothers abandoned. Still, nineteen-year-old Nova always has a smile that blazes like the Texas sun when she’s standing on the porch of her family farmhouse. She knows the true meaning behind hard work and showing love to those around her. Her fiancé worships the ground she walks on. Her long-term friendship burns with a bond of sisterhood. When the bank comes knocking for their home and vicious jealousy poisons her best friend’s heart, her happiness fades. Family hardship and a blood-soaked incident between the two women, almost results in the innocent young farm woman losing her life. Nova’s life is soon terribly turned upside down forever the day she is admitted to Methodist hospital. She survives the accident, only to shed tears to the devastating news of her fraternal twins and lifelong scars, left in the complete dark of the hospital’s terrifying secret. (Inspired by the true events of newborns that went missing during the early 1980’s)Ten years later Nova still suffers both mentally and physically from what happened. She lives alone in the farmhouse with just her young son, fighting a quiet battle within the confines of her home, between loyalty and revenge. Her mind fractures with rageful behavior, committing sinful acts against those who pose a threat to her property and her perfect little family. After learning of her childhood best friend’s new and established life, her marriage, and that she’s a mother to a daughter, she feels the girl is the missing piece she must possess that will make the dark puzzle of her life complete. When her plan falls into place, and she becomes the girl’s godmother, Nova wages a brutal psychological warfare on the young girl, forcing 'mother' from her lips. Darling Godmother is a mind gripping and heartbreaking coming-of age story, reflecting on the women whose voices went unheard as they faced mental challenges and difficult choices. Most have known the sting of loss carried yet rose above and moved on to happily rebuild their lives when some could not.
