Bei dieser Arbeit handelt es sich um eine qualitative ethnografische Studie, die sich auf die Dandara-Besetzung in Belo Horizonte konzentriert. Dabei handelt es sich um eine städtische Siedlung, die von den Volksbrigaden gegründet wurde, einer Bewegung, die sich für den Wohnungsbau einsetzt und versucht, durch die Besetzung von Grundstücken, die ihre soziale Funktion nicht erfüllen, Wohnmöglichkeiten für Bevölkerungsgruppen zu schaffen, die nicht vom Markt oder von staatlichen Programmen erfasst werden. Die genannte soziale Bewegung versucht, städtische Räume zu schaffen, die sich der kapitalistischen Logik widersetzen. Die vorliegende Untersuchung befasst sich mit den unterschiedlichen Interessen zwischen den Förderern der Ansiedlung der bedürftigen Bevölkerung in diesem Raum und den Interessen der Bevölkerung, die diesen Raum bewohnt, in Bezug auf die Art und Weise, wie die Idee des Wohnens von den verschiedenen an dieser Aktion beteiligten Subjekten aufgefasst wird.
