L’obiettivo di questo libro è riflettere sull’impatto della violenza quotidiana sulla vita di una persona, basandosi su un caso di studio dell’Istituto di Terapia Familiare di San Paolo. Attraverso le narrazioni dell’adolescente Pedro, della sua vita permeata dalla violenza domestica, questo lavoro attinge alle seguenti fonti di conoscenza: il buddismo tibetano e il concetto di pace interiore di Lama Gangchen Rinpoche, i recenti studi di neuroscienze e la constatazione degli effetti della violenza sull’architettura cerebrale, la teoria sistemica relazionale e il costruzionismo sociale, basi teoriche della cura in questione. Lo studio mira ad ampliare la nostra visione dell’urgente necessità di affrontare il problema della violenza domestica come terapeuti, educatori, professionisti della salute e come cittadini responsabili della costruzione di una cultura di pace.
