W ciągu ostatnich kilku dekad mikro i małe przedsiębiorstwa były postrzegane jako marginalne i nieproduktywne, z ograniczonym wkładem we wzrost gospodarczy kraju, ale ostatnio rola mikro i małych przedsiębiorstw w tworzeniu miejsc pracy i generowaniu dochodów jest coraz bardziej uznawana i stała się głównym polem gry dla decydentów i darczyńców z podwójnym celem zwiększenia wzrostu i złagodzenia ubóstwa. Niniejsza książka bada niektóre kluczowe czynniki wpływające na rozwój mikro i małych przedsiębiorstw w południowym regionie Etiopii, w oparciu o ankietę obejmującą 314 losowo wybranych MSE z pięciu głównych miast z sektorów handlu, produkcji i usług. Zmienne zostały przeanalizowane przy użyciu technik analizy opisowej i wielowymiarowej. Przeprowadzono jednoczynnikową analizę wariancji ANOVA z porównaniem post-hoc przy użyciu testu Tukeya HSD, aby porównać wpływ trzech sektorów na wzrost zatrudnienia w MSE. Oprócz tego zastosowano metodę analizy czynnikowej i model regresji wielokrotnej w celu zbadania statystycznego związku między zmiennymi zależnymi i niezależnymi badania.
