Cynthia’s Revels is a play written by Ben Jonson, a prominent English playwright and poet of the 17th century. The play is a satirical comedy that was first performed in 1600. It is set in the court of Queen Elizabeth I and follows the story of a group of young courtiers who are obsessed with fashion, gossip, and social climbing. The main character is a young man named Crites who is determined to become a favorite of the queen, but his efforts are constantly thwarted by his rivals. The play is full of witty dialogue, clever wordplay, and biting social commentary on the excesses and follies of court life. It is considered one of Jonson’s most successful works and a classic example of Jacobean drama. Is that thy Boy Hedon?
