Customs litigation, frequently referred to by various authors as customs criminal law or customs criminal law, today constitutes a fundamental element of customs sector activities. It is effectively implemented to supervise, regulate, and provide sanctions against international trade operators who adopt a recalcitrant attitude. Furthermore, customs administrations must be aware that they may be held liable for the behavior of their officers during inspection operations.Nevertheless, when a customs dispute arises, two resolution methods are available: either through a settlement, aimed at resolving the dispute quickly and efficiently, or before the competent courts when the situation requires it.
