       Elio Alba Buffill (Cuba, 25 de abril de 1930-USA, 24 de agosto de 2017) fue Profesor Emérito de City University of New York, Kingsborough C. College y Secretario Ejecutivo del Círculo de Cultura Panamericana. Obtuvo un Doctorado en Derecho de la Univesidad de la Habana y un Master of Art de Rutgers The State University of New Jersey y un Doctorado en Filosofía de New York University. Pertenece a la Academia Norteamericana de la Lengua Española y a muchas otras instituciones académicas. Ha publicado numerosos libros de ensayos y crítica literaria.       Este libro contiene 21 conferencias y cinco presentaciones de libros estudiando figuras trascendentales como Enrique José Varona, Eduardo Facciolo, Antonio Maceo, Gertrudis Gómez de Avellaneda, José Martí, el ensayo en la República, Alejo Carpentier, Humberto Piñera Llera, la mujer cubana, el ICP, Alberfto Gutiérrez de la Solana, Leví Marrero, Néstor Carbonell Cortina, Enrique Ros, Ariel Remos y otros importantes estudios como la mujer cubana y otros de la República de Cuba.*****Elio lba Buffill (Cuba, April 25, 1930-USA, August 24, 2017) was Professor Emeritus of the City University of New York, Kingsborough C. College and Executive Secretary of the Círculo de Cultura Panamericana. He obtained a Doctorate in Law from the University of Havana and a Master of Art from Rutgers The State University of New Jersey and a Doctorate in Philosophy from New York University. It belongs to the North American Academy of the Spanish Language and many other academic institutions. He has published numerous books of essays and literary criticism.       This book studies transcendental Cuban figures in literature and history such as: Enrique Jose Varona, Eduardo Facciolo, Antonio Maceo, Gertrudis Gomez de Avellaneda, Jose Marti, Alejo Carpentier, Humerto Pinera Llera, Alberto Gutierrez de la Solana, Levi Marrero, Nestor Carbonell, Enrique Ros, Ariel Remos and many important topics such as the Cuban woman, the ICP and important essays written about the Cuban Republic.
