A successful and sophisticated career criminal leaves a life of international crime and attempts to go straight. Relationships with the two women in his life come to an end. One is his criminal associate, the other, his lover. Disillusioned with Britain, he re-locates to south east Spain determined to enjoy his retirement. On a subsequent visit to the U.K. he meets Maxie, his former crime partner who unwittingly presents him with an opportunity which he seizes. On impulse and acting alone he commits an armed robbery netting himself a large haul of cocaine which he stashes before returning to Spain. In an effort to convert the drugs into hard cash he single-handedly sets about moving the cache and infiltrating the Spanish underworld in order to arrange a deal. Simultaneously he enter a new relationship with Dagmar, a German who is unaware of his criminal activities. Slowly he begins to fall for her . A drug deal he has arranged goes wrong with murderous consequences for all involved. When Dagmar’s female intuition turns to suspicion it threatens his liberty and his ruthless self-preservation impacts on her and a close friend. A much darker side of the man’s character emerges before he is finally brought to justice.
