This fictional story is based upon a mercenary operation in Mozambique where three ageing ex-soldiers were tasked to restore order in the area of the port of Maputo and railyard complex so that aid and commercial vessels could conduct their business. This war-ravaged country, which had seen a fifteen-year conflict between the factions of Frelimo and Renamo, was at an end, and had left a lawless and hopeless situation for the starving population. The story, beguiling yet spiced with startling scenes of horror and violence, is told with humour based upon the team’s comradeship, where they operated in spartan conditions dealing with horrific situations until the completion of their contract, leaving them somewhat battered, but alive. The story ends with a suitable twist in the tale, and the question of whether they would ever do it again?
