No other woman your life can be to you as your wife can. She can bear your children, manage your home, meet your need for sexual expression, and travel with you around the world. And if she is anything like my bride, she makes your house, your home no matter where in the world or the size or age of the house; she makes it home because her love is there. All that said, our wives deserve the place of the first lady in our lives. She is first over mother, sister, aunt, daughter, former wife, girlfriend or female boss. That means you and I have to learn how to manage the women in our lives. Our wives need to feel like they are the relationship priority in our lives. Keeping it personal, your wife and your relationship with her is the most important relationship you will have with another living human. Your relationship with your wife is second only to your relationship Jesus. By giving her this place in your life you are nourishing and cherishing her. Take a moment here to think about something you cherish, something you value highly. Maybe when you were a kid, it was a Nolan Ryan baseball glove or a baseball signed by Willie Mays. Maybe you cherished your very first bicycle or certainly your first car. You probably bragged that you had it. Showed it to everybody, but did let anybody touch it, ride it or drive it. You probably made sure you kept it oiled, clean and shiny. You cherished it. That applies to how you cherish your wife. You speak well of her (brag on her) and honor her when she is not around as well as when she can hear it. You show her off to everybody and take her with you where you go. You certainly use discretion with her and share her with no one. You ensure she is cared for inside and out. You take care to help her become all that God intended for her to be. And by doing so you show that she is cherished. Why do all this? Because she is a reflection of you and how well you cherish her. Not your car or your boat; your wife. Here is the reality. H

We’ve been duped into removing prayer from the center of our churches and have placed it on the periphery or semi-periphery.  What we’re witnessing today in our churches, and in society at large, is that legacy of prayerlessness.  Church leadership may be hesitant and embarrassed to admit it, but there is a direct correlation between our spiritual weakness and our lack of corpo...

If God is good, why do we get sick? When God created the world, He declared: "It is good." But then came the Fall, and with it sickness and death. In this heart-tugging monograph, Dr. Davis McGuirt draws from both his training in theology and the personal agony of watching his father die from cancer to provide a variety of biblical reasons for why we get sick. We are also remin...
