Luke Rizzo, a retired NYPD narc, now a private eye, is a smart, righteous guy with a full sense of humor. Except, he finds nothing funny about watching his former snitch, Rabbit, get stabbed to death by a hooded assailant on his way to their arranged meeting spot in Grand Central Station. Rizzo vows to find Rabbit’s killer. But the Salazar syndicate, a nasty gang of sex-slavers, has kidnapped two teenage Mexican girls and smuggled them across the border to NYC. One of the two teens is Rabbit’s niece. Now, Rizzo also needs to locate and rescue the teenagers. He receives help from an FBI friend, but help comes with strings. Salazar has gone into the drug smuggling business, partnering with a notorious Puerto Rican cartel. The FBI offers Rizzo a role in their scheme to intercept a major shipment of cocaine about to launch from San Juan. Rizzo accepts, and a sunny assignment in Puerto Rico quickly turns hairy. Nothing comes easy for Luke Rizzo. 3

Paul Keller is the Stephen Dedalus of the piece, the son of Robert and Sylvie, whose internal monologue is spliced into the action, and whose incestuous feelings for his sister lead to an increase in his...
