TóZé Silva nasceu em Figueiró dos Vinhos em 13 de fevereiro de 1962 e faleceu no dia 9 de outubro de 2012. Licenciado em História e Mestre em Estudos do Património, desenvolveu uma vasta investigação em torno da história local e regional, sobretudo na vertente do património e das memórias e identidades. Nos últimos anos da sua vida, publicou dezenas de artigos no Jornal A Comarca, num espaço primeiramente designado 'Miradouro da Comarca' e, mais tarde, 'Crónicas dum Tempo', que era também a designação do seu blogue. São esses artigos, notáveis e sempre oportunos, que o seu irmão Rui compilou neste livro, para que as gerações vindouras saibam um pouco da história da nossa terra e do pensamento extraordinário do seu autor.
