This study has attempted to decode meanings and power from the Bible through the application of CDA and SFL such as Transitivity. I have then attempted a critical discourse analysis to two selected extracts. The analysis has revealed valuable findings. The analysis has focus on how speakers try to convince their audience by the use of power and how hegemony by the hearer functions. Ideologies has plays an important role in the achievement of our goal. It must then be noticed that ideologies help speakers to persuade more the hearers. In this work, as far as the application of CDA framework is concerned, Halliday systemic functional linguistics have been chosen. To reach the goal, I have in first place revealed some useful works by different scholars which relate to my field of inquiry. I did so through the review of literature. Next, I have defined concepts of CDA and SFL useful for a better understanding of my work. My next move has been the practical application transitivity features to the selected extracts.
