Além disso, por muito grandes que sejam as empresas dos Cinco Grandes, estão sempre à mercê dos concorrentes, quer através da sua inventiva I&D, quer através da aquisição de novas empresas dinâmicas que as possam impulsionar para a frente. A tecnologia digital está a permitir uma mudança de uma economia manufactureira para uma economia de serviços. Estão agora a surgir empresas de serviços que utilizam plataformas digitais de distribuição, tais como a UBER ou a AIRBNB. Como podemos lutar contra a conversão de trabalhadores em trabalhadores independentes precários e a supressão galopante de empregos bem remunerados? O Estado deve introduzir um rendimento mínimo garantido.
