Surely, all barristers are from rich families indulging in the comfort of cars and not a moped! Has the author really broken that rule at his birth? Born of two poor parents: hotel chef and hotel waitress; father died during the Normandy Invasion at the Siege of Caen. His mother cared for him until at fourteen, he left wanting to become a priest. At twenty-two, the author, broken in health, took refuge in his mother where he set about his task and eventually became a graduate barrister. He helped criminals and victims in Crown Courts- a wig and gown job! The author still arrived at court on a moped for thirteen years until...he changed to a two-wheeler and not to a car. A good read, the readers will appreciate that resilience is one of the keys to success.
