These stories are cozy mysteries. By that terminology, it is meant mystery stories that lack profanity, blood and gore, gratuitous violence, and depictions of sexual activity. Frequently in such stories, the mystery solvers are neither police nor private detectives. The sleuths generally use their knowledge of human nature and perhaps knowledge from their own fields to solve these mysteries.
