Counsel For The Defense is a legal thriller novel written by Leroy Scott and originally published in 1912. The story follows the trial of a young man named Jack Karslake, who is accused of murdering his wealthy uncle. The prosecution presents a strong case against Jack, and it seems as though he will be found guilty and sentenced to death. However, Jack’s defense attorney, John Strickland, is determined to prove his client’s innocence and sets out to uncover the truth behind the murder. Along the way, Strickland faces numerous challenges, including corrupt officials and witnesses who are afraid to come forward. Despite these obstacles, he perseveres and ultimately uncovers evidence that exonerates Jack and reveals the true culprit. The novel is a gripping tale of justice and the power of a skilled defense attorney to fight for the rights of their client. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
