Todos los costos logísticos en la mayoría de los casos, generalmente están ocultos y asignados en la contabilidad a diferentes departamentos involucrados en el proceso, y no están identificados como costos logísticos; es por eso que este libro pretende ilustrar la manera del como encarar, identificar y procurar la minimización de los mismos, sobretodo teniendo en cuenta que al no existir un claro entendimiento de los costos logísticos involucrados, de su magnitud relativa y su interrelación, se tienen sistemas de indicadores de desempeño en donde hay indicadores que no son relevantes, algunos otros que están en conflicto entre sí y sobretodo que ponen en conflicto a las áreas involucradas.
