L’idea della 'coscienza' dell’intero universo è un argomento controverso nella scienza e nella filosofia. Nella prospettiva meccanicistica, il mondo e tutti i suoi componenti sono spesso visti solo come inanimati, ma da una prospettiva più ampia, esiste anche un altro elemento come attributo qualitativo dell’universo fisico. Si nasconde dietro il mondo mondano e dà origine a un sistema intenzionale, strutturato, dinamico e intelligente. Semplicemente, il termine 'consapevolezza' implica la nozione di 'coscienza' in psicologia. Dal punto di vista filosofico, l’idea di 'coscienza' può essere fatta risalire a tempi antichi e può essere dimostrata attraverso documenti storici. La fisica moderna ci fornisce lo strumento per descrivere l’universo fisico in termini di atti di manipolazione cosciente. Diversi casi di 'comportamenti intelligenti' sono spiegati per indicare alcune forme di 'Coscienza' anche a livello di particelle subatomiche. Inoltre, il 'fenomeno dell’entanglement' mostra 'caratteristiche di memoria' e 'Coscienza'. Lo studio spera quindi di dimostrare che l’idea di un universo cosciente, che era stata articolata in precedenza da pensatori antichi e precedenti, è ora ulteriormente avanzata grazie ad alcune scoperte della fisica moderna.
