The Contemporary Theory Workbook series is a comprehensive course which provides a practical approach to music theory, from the basics of Major scale construction right through to modes and harmonic understanding, for application to the study of either classical or modern repertoire. Following on from the music fundamentals presented the first book, Book Two explores Minor Scales, Interval Qualities, Four-note Chords (6ths and 7ths), Modes, Harmonic structure and alternative scales including the Blues scale, Pentatonic Scale and Diminished Scale, Compound Time-Signatures, Swing timing and more. The page-per-lesson format including both information on each topic and sufficient exercises for completion, is a time-efficient teaching tool which encourages the student to move forward at a page a week pace or faster.  Answer pages are included.    3
