Em vez de encarar o plágio apenas como uma questão disciplinar, os professores devem abordá-lo como uma oportunidade para educar os alunos sobre a citação correcta, a originalidade e o valor das suas próprias ideias. Ao promover uma atitude positiva em relação à integridade académica, os professores podem fomentar uma cultura de honestidade e respeito pela propriedade intelectual entre os alunos.A perceção do plágio pode variar entre os professores e é importante abordar quaisquer equívocos ou preconceitos que possam existir.
