La riabilitazione dei pazienti edentuli è attualmente uno dei principali obiettivi dell’odontoiatria. L’inserimento di impianti come supporto e ritenzione delle protesi è emerso come una proposta di trattamento sicuro che consente una maggiore prevedibilità. Tuttavia, per garantire il successo della terapia è necessario osservare e chiarire diversi aspetti. Questo lavoro ha cercato di identificare le conoscenze e le aspettative dei pazienti in trattamento con impianti dentali presso l’Ospedale Generale dell’Esercito di Salvador - Bahia, oltre a tracciare il profilo socioeconomico della clientela, mettendo in relazione queste caratteristiche con la perdita dei denti.
