Melvin A. Zelaya inició su carrera a mediados de la década de 1960 tras graduarse de la Academia de Informática de San Francisco como analista de sistemas y, posteriormente, en la década de 1970, trabajó durante siete años para IBM. Actualmente jubilado, dedicó la mayor parte de su carrera a la gestión de ventas y marketing en algunas de las corporaciones más grandes de Estados Unidos. Es licenciado en administración de empresas y contabilidad por la Universidad de Alaska y posee un MBA en marketing por la Universidad de Phoenix. Se jubiló en 2006 de la compañía Coca-Cola, donde se desempeñaba como gerente de ventas regional.Se considera a sí mismo un signo de interrogación andante y, como tal, se embarcó en una misión de búsqueda y descubrimiento después de conocer, aceptar y recibir a Jesucristo como su Salvador en 1975. Decidió descubrir lo que Dios, personal y verdaderamente, ha dicho en Su Palabra, en lugar de lo que ha sido difundido por la institución religiosa durante los últimos 1700 años aproximadamente. Sin embargo, para lograrlo, tuvo que averiguar cuáles de los supuestos libros 'sagrados' existentes son realmente sagrados. Después de varios años de investigación exhaustiva, llegó a la conclusión de que la Biblia es el único libro verdaderamente sobrenatural, y el resto, como dice el dicho, es historia. Actualmente vive en el área metropolitana de Phoenix y vive plenamente la vida de Juan 10:10 que nuestro Señor ofrece en nombre del Padre a todo aquel que acude a Su Amado Hijo buscando salvación y liberación de este mundo temporal. Actualmente, tras enviudar en 2020, Dios, de manera sobrenatural, lo unió a su amada esposa Carmen, y siempre que es posible, colabora en su ministerio para los pobres, los indigentes y las personas sin hogar en Liberia, Costa Rica, hasta que esta labor se convierta en una situación permanente. Ella ha sido una inspiración y un ejemplo en su demostración del amor de Cristo Jesús, con resultados tangibles y genuinos en las vidas de estas personas menos afortunadas.
