Ce travail est le résultat de deux années de recherche (2009 à 2011) sur les cercles de choro existant à Aracaju/SE et les relations sociales qui s’y sont construites. L’objectif de la recherche était de comprendre les relations de rivalité et de solidarité entre les groupes qui formaient ce qu’on appelait le circuit du choro de la ville. La musique a été considérée comme l’élément organisateur de ce circuit, qui servait à la fois de critère d’identification et de conflit entre les membres des huit groupes différents existant à cette époque.
