Cette thèse vise à analyser les racines historiques, géographiques et sociales de la montée en puissance des Néo-Talibans en août 2021. Il serait réducteur de lier les événements récents du pays, à savoir l’invasion des troupes étrangères occidentales et leur retrait final, au retour du groupe extrémiste islamique. Pour expliquer les événements contemporains, il faut remonter dans le temps, et pas seulement, il faut analyser tous les aspects d’une population et de son histoire. Or, comme nous le verrons, celle de l’Afghanistan n’est pas du tout facile à analyser. Sa matrice ethnoculturelle est riche d’influences, de positions et de traditions différentes, chacune d’entre elles étant fondamentale pour la compréhension du pays dans son ensemble.On tente de comprendre les répercussions géopolitiques que l’Afghanistan d’aujourd’hui pourrait avoir sur les équilibres internationaux.
