Foi explorada a viabilidade de incorporar diferentes cargas inorgânicas, como o óxido de zinco nanocristalino (ZnO), o sulfureto de cádmio (CdS) e o titanato de cobre e cálcio, CaCu3Ti4O12 (CCTO), na matriz polimérica de PVDF para formar um filme compósito com propriedades ópticas, eléctricas e dieléctricas adequadas, conducentes a aplicações em dispositivos. Estes compósitos poliméricos trariam novas esperanças, que poderiam ser exploradas como dispositivos estruturais de armazenamento de energia, em que a matriz e as cargas assumem sinergicamente os papéis de suporte estrutural e de armazenamento de energia. As perspectivas de utilização de compósitos PVDF/CdS também podem ser exploradas para expandir a utilização dos compósitos como aplicações de dispositivos fotovoltaicos (PV).
