Since the unification of our civil and commercial codes in Law 26994, there has been a change in the commercial regulation in our legal system, but it should be noted that this is not only due to the 'harmonization' of the civil and commercial regulations, but also because real new normative precepts are introduced that will anchor the civil and commercial regulations to a governing legal system of our times, that of the International Human Rights Law. A brief reference to Articles 1 and 2 of the Argentine Civil and Commercial Code would suffice to explain what has been said. Gone are the business practices of overexploitation of human capital, the small print, and the policies of commercial disloyalty; there is social awareness about this change of era and companies that do not comply will not only be condemned in social criticism but may also be liable to more or less representative economic sanctions, and even their managers may face criminal proceedings. That said, I believe that the future of regulatory compliance in Latin America and worldwide is linked to AI, which must be approached with great care.
