Difficult issues have been placed at the doorstep of our country. Challenges that we are quickly realizing the people we have elected to lead us are ill-equipped to handle. Timely decisions and effective action on thorny issues such as immigration, the war on terrorism and energy reform-just to name a few-have yet to materialize. Instead, a spectacle of scandal, finger pointing and fruitless bickering greets the American taxpayer. It has become obvious that it is ridiculous to blame any one individual or administration for the difficult position we find ourselves in today. We have arrived here-make no mistake-through generations of good intentions followed by bad decisions. Here, in the Purple State, we know that national change must first begin in our own lives and in our own hometowns. We believe that there is a lot of good old common sense to be found here... Some thoughts that we hope our friends firmly rooted in the Red and the Blue states might take a moment to consider.

  • Meritocrats

Stuart Evans’s first novel is a comedy-of-ill-manners set in a nouveau riche milieu: a fantastic satirical performance and hyper-referential homage to masters past and present. Paul Keller is the Stephen Dedalus of the piece, the son of Robert and Sylvie, whose internal monologue is spliced into the action, and whose incestuous feelings for his sister lead to an increase in his...
