With the Cold War over, we should look back at its root causes. One of the still puzzling question is when did the Cold War actually start? What caused WWI and WWII allies to become our greatest enemy? Were there any correlation’s between the causes of the Cold War and other events that were taking place at the time? If so, how did they contribute to the war? Looking back at Russian history, and America’s involvement in that history, I will show that the undeclared war between the two states that would span a century began with the Russian Revolution of 1917. I will then move forward in history to look at WWI and an in-depth look at WWII as to determine what factors caused the Americans and Russians to take the courses of action they did to forge the Cold War.This work has been selected by scholars as being culturally important, and is part of the knowledge base of civilization as we know it.
