Les mariages de droit coutumier jouent un rôle important dans la vie de nombreux Zambiens, car la grande majorité d’entre eux contractent leur mariage en vertu du droit coutumier. Toutefois, il est important de souligner qu’il n’existe aucune loi codifiée régissant les mariages contractés en vertu du droit coutumier en Zambie. C’est pourquoi cette étude visait à analyser comment la codification des mariages de droit coutumier pouvait favoriser l’égalité entre les hommes et les femmes. Sur la base de ses conclusions, l’étude a présenté le principe de la codification comme un outil susceptible d’être appliqué en tant que mécanisme renforçant la protection des droits des femmes dans le cadre des mariages de droit coutumier.
