Escrito por el Cronista de Indias Gonzalo Fernández de Oviedo, está caracterizado por la construcción del pacto de verosimilitud, el uso de las estrategias legitimadoras de las “historias fingidas” y el diálogo con otras tradiciones narrativas.Claribalte y sus libros: 500 años es el sexto volumen de la colección que, con motivo de los quintos centenarios de las princeps de distintos libros de caballerías, busca generar un diálogo entre los estudiosos de la materia.
