Karl Barth is the foremost theologian of the twentieth century, some would say since Thomas Aquinas.Our understanding of Jesus- our Christology- is crucial to Christian faith. He studied at the universities of Dublin, Belfast, Edinburgh, Basle and Tiibingen. For many years a parish minister, he commenced lecturing in the University of Dublin in the early sixties and thence moved to a post in the Presbyterian College, Belfast in 1970. He has since become its Professor of Systematic Theology.
