My wife and I are both retired. We strive to live according to the word of the Lord. We try to reap from the word of God every day. One morning in April 2024, I awoke and looked at the clock, and the time was 4:44 a.m. I got up and plugged my phone in to the charger, and the amount of power on the phone came up as 44 percent. At that point, I thought that the number of 4s was not a coincidence but a God thing, although I had no idea what it meant. So I looked at the thermostat to check the temperature. The temperature was 74 degrees, and it was set on 74 degrees. Seven plus seven is fourteen. There were three 4s again. Later, my wife and I sat down to read our daily scripture. The reading for the day was Luke chapter four. The chapter has forty-four verses. We went to church that Wednesday night, and I gave a testimony as to the supernaturalness of this phenomenon. At that point, it was pointed out to me that the date was April 24, 2024. I do not understand the meaning of this experience, but I know that it was from God. I felt so humbled and amazed. In my retirement, I had a dream of producing a daily devotional to honor my Lord. I had been sending devotions to my children and brothers regularly for some time. Because of the supernatural occurrence of this number on this particular day, I felt that the Lord was telling me that now is the time to start a devotional book. The time in which we live today reminds me of the days of Elijah recorded in the eighteenth chapter of 1 Kings. There was a drought because of the Hebrew’s disobedience to God. It seems that we are living in a time when there is a drought not of water but of righteous living. May we all repent and call on the name of the one true God who desires and deserves honor. F.
