Building upon the foundations laid in China’s Impact and China’s Rise, the author examines how China has surpassed the West, represented by the United States, and the Western model across various domains. These include economic aggregate, citizen assets, social welfare, technological innovation, and institutional arrangements. In many of these areas, China has already overtaken the United States; in others, it is poised to do so in the near future; and in the remaining areas, persistent efforts may ultimately lead to China surpassing the West as well. Among these, the most significant is undoubtedly the surpassing in institutional arrangements-that is, in the political system. Furthermore, from the perspective of a 'civilization-state,' the author explores how Chinese discourse has transcended Western discourse, elucidating the Chinese path, the Chinese model, China’s institutional arrangements, and the underlying philosophies. He demonstrates the profound rationale behind many of China’s approaches.As a great nation that has sustained its civilization for five thousand years without interruption, China maintained a leading position in the world throughout most of history. Its lag behind the West is a phenomenon of the modern era.
