This book provides a comprehensive analysis of the status quo of Sino-Russian relations against the backdrop of the war in Ukraine. The war in Ukraine marks a turning point in international relations. Russia has obviously underestimated the united stand of the West following its invasion of Ukraine. The international isolation, boycott of exports, and Western economic sanctions will harm Russia’s development in the long term. And China, Russia’s most important political partner, is confronted with a dilemma: supporting Russia too visibly, will further alienate its Western partners. On the other hand, Russia expects support from its strategic partner in a challenging situation like this.
