Chimney Dweller describes a journey through the perimenopausal mind of a married woman after her 'nest' has emptied. The woman enters into a stream of consciousness of discovery to redefinition and self empowerment based on a coincident event in her life when during her 50th winter, an unknown animal becomes a resident within her family room chimney. As the woman ponders what the creature might be, its condition, and her possible need for intervention, she is inspired to consider parallels in her life versus that of the animal which, in the book, ultimately become a metaphor for the self realization she was seeking.
