La Otitis Media Aguda Supurada es una enfermedad muy frecuente en los pacientes pediátricos, está sujeta constantemente a una gran cantidad de procesos de investigación, lo que ha generado diferentes criterios con respecto al diagnóstico, microbiología y manejo Se trata de una patología que rara vez representa una urgencia, a pesar de que sus síntomas sean a menudo dramáticos. Los niños suelen estar predispuestos a las reinfecciones, recolonizaciones o persistencia de patógenos 2 semanas después del tratamiento antibiótico. La coinfección de más de un patógeno es también común, así como la infección por microorganismos productores de β-lactamasas. El proceso inflamatorio asociado con la Otitis Media Aguda es complejo y comprende muchos elementos, de modo que su manejo se hace también complicado, es por ello que nos centramos en establecer una pauta en el tratamiento de la Otitis media aguda supurada empleando un fámaco antimicrobiano que logre la remisión total de los síntomas en un período corto de tiempo.
