Born in Jiangxi Province, Yen-lin Teng (1908-1980) was a well-known Library Science scientist, bibliographer, and expert on reference work. In short, he studied and worked in many important institutions at home and abroad and dedicated all his life to the field of Library Science, which has become the field of Information Management in today’s world. Prof. Teng was among the Chinese exemplars of Library Science scientists in the 20th century. His personal life and academic course can be seen as a miniature of Chinese Library Science scientists’ endeavor, which deserves close attention.
