本書改編自筆者過去就讀心理學研究所時，所做出的學位論文研究報告，內容忠實的描述並討論同志基督徒信仰與性取向認同衝突的歷程。受訪者是兩位男性。並且採用社會建構論作為認識論視框，以敘說研究法撰寫出兩個截然不同的生命故事。第一為共同的處境之理解，表明基督教信仰對這兩位男同志基督徒的意義，再描繪他們在所處的教會中與所生活的環境中受到的歧視和偏見，緊接著解釋他們是如何應付偏見和衝突，以及怎樣在信仰上尋找出口。第二為認同歷程之結合與比對，筆者利用他們的故事建構了一個同志基督徒認同歷程的概念初型，此初型將有助於我們理解同志基督徒所可能面對認同衝突以及其所用的減低衝突之策略。 從兩位同志基督徒的故事中，筆者發現豐富同志資源社群與同志或支持同志的教會對於同志基督徒的認同發展有相當重要的地位，而同志/ 支持同志的教會則是扮演傳遞正向同志訊息與同志神學的重要角色。最後筆者歸結出整個同志基督徒的認同歷程可能是 Erikson 所說的認同危機中的一塊，對心理學領域熟悉的讀者們可以嘗試用 Erikson 的心理社會發展理論來幫助理解它的內涵。 江思穎為台灣領有執照的臨床心理師，擁有美國臨床心理學碩士學位，曾在國內外多處心理治療診所服務，包括學校心理諮商中心、社區心理衛生所、愛滋病患心理復健中心、成人煙毒勒戒所、與教學醫院的成人及兒童精神科部門。作者同時具有臨床心理相關之研究經驗；尤其對跨文化議題與心理認同困擾方面有專長。 3
