I supercarri tedeschi ideati per vincere la guerra. Per tutta la durata della Seconda guerra mondiale, gli avanzati gruppi di progettazione tedeschi lavorarono a una sconcertante varietà di mezzi corazzati di ogni forma e dimensione. Questo primo volume tratta un campione di progetti affascinanti che non vennero mai prodotti in serie, ma soltanto allo stato di prototipi e/o comunque in un numero di esemplari ridottissimi. Si trattava preferibilmente di carri armati pesanti o addirittura super pesanti come il panzer VIII MAUS, ideato dalla Porsche, o altri come il panzer VII Löwe ideato dagli ingegneri della Krupp in diverse versioni e studi.  Pesanti cacciacarri come il Dicker Max o il mastodontico Geschützwagen Tiger (Grille). seguiti poi dai carri del progetto VK 4501/02 come il Vorn e l’Hinten di Porsche e Krupp! Lo studio poi continuerà fino ai modelli della cosiddetta Serie E che tratteremo nel secondo volume insieme ad altri interessanti progetti.
