El 15 de marzo de 1971, el Partido Nacional de Honduras publicó Corona fúnebre, un libro para homenajear al general Tiburcio Carías Andino. El caudillo había fallecido el 23 de diciembre de 1969, a los 93 años, pero su recuerdo seguía siendo fuerte entre los militantes cachurecos. El libro recopiló artículos de escritores de la talla de Jaime Fontana, Eliseo Pérez Cadalso, Lucas Paredes, Yanuario Landa Blanco, Rafael Bardales Bueso, Matías Oviedo y Raúl Gilberto Tróchez, entre otros. Es una obra apologética, pero de un valor histórico incalculable. TIBURCIO CARÍAS ANDINO. Nació el 15 de marzo de 1876 en Tegucigalpa; falleció en esa misma ciudad el 23 de diciembre de 1969. Político, abogado y general hondureño. Ganó las elecciones presidenciales de 1932 como candidato del Partido Nacional. Cuatro años después se negó a entregar el poder. Su dictadura se extendió hasta 1949.
