In so far as possible the subject matter is treated from a quantitative point of view, whether dealing with the effects of ultraviolet light on isolated cells or on more integrated systems including the induction of cancer. A description of the course of carcinogenesis by ultraviolet light is presented, based on experimental data, in which cancer is treated as a growing tissue mass.
