A pesar de que el género Amanita ha sido uno de los más estudiados en nuestro país, su conocimiento todavía es parcial, descubriéndose nuevos registros y especies en diferentes localidades del territorio mexicano.Este trabajo se basa en los estudios y listados del género Amanita en el estado para ampliar el conocimiento de este género por medio de métodos moleculares de identificación. Generando así un listado de las setas del género Amanita de dos áreas naturales protegidas registrando para el estado de Guanajuato, en particular para la Sierra de Santa Rosa y la ANP EcoCubilete.En este estudio se realizan dos nuevos registros para México, cinco nuevos registros para el estado de Guanajuato, un nuevo registro para el área natural protegida (ANP) EcoCubilete y un nuevo registro para la ANP Cuenca de la Esperanza.Este estudio es los primeros estudios realizados de la diversidad y abundancia de hongos del género Amanita y a su vez uno de los primeros que utiliza la identificación genética en la zona para la identificación de setas.
