Cet article présente une revue exhaustive de la littérature sur les propriétés électrophysiques des films polymères soumis à une implantation ionique. L’objectif de ce travail était également d’étudier, par spectroscopie optique, des films minces de polyéthylène téréphtalate C22H8O4 préalablement soumis à une implantation ionique de nickel à différentes doses et différents courants. Les résultats obtenus et les spectres optiques, tant de transmission que de réflexion, sont présentés. Une relation entre l’augmentation de la dose dans ces spectres et la diminution du coefficient d’absorption relatif a été mise en évidence. La manifestation possible d’une résonance plasmonique optique est examinée. Le décalage relatif du bord d’absorption observé dans une série de spectres à mesure que la taille des clusters de carbone π-électroniques augmente avec la dose est expliqué. Cela permet, en étudiant les changements relatifs des caractéristiques optiques, de déterminer comment l’implantation de métal dans un polymère influence la modification de sa structure interne et de ses propriétés.
