Celem tej pracy jest przedstawienie Candomblé w sensie etnologicznym, najbardziej znanych narodów, bóstw w każdym narodzie, powszechnie nazywanych orixás, oraz przedstawienie tych bóstw poprzez najpopularniejszy naród przedstawiony społeczeństwu: naród Ketu. Po wyjaśnieniu głównych narodów, celem jest krótka prezentacja każdego z nich, pokazanie, w jaki sposób czczone są ich bóstwa i zilustrowanie tych bóstw w każdym narodzie, rysując profil między bóstwami a adeptami wtajemniczonymi w Candomblé. Celem jest pokazanie, że Candomblé, rytuał przywieziony przez niewolników z Afryki w okresie kolonialnym, ale zapoczątkowany na naszych ziemiach, wzbudził fascynację w różnych segmentach społeczeństwa.
