Hello, Readers,To God be the glory.I would like to take a little time to tell you about this book that I have written and how God led me to write it. Over the years of growth, I can truly say I have developed a personal relationship with Christ. He speaks to me; he tells me things that only Christ could tell me. He often gives me messages in the form of poems. That, only God can do! God gives me the words, and I simply write them down. I remember the first poem Christ gave me. It was a home-going poem for my father. On June 19, 2007, my father went to glory. I wanted to say something about my father publicly, but I had a fear of speaking before crowds. There was something about speaking before a crowd that always gave me a feeling of fear. I couldn’t let this fear stop me from letting the world know how I felt about this great man. I needed to write something down to let people know how I felt about him. I experienced a lot of sleepless nights trying to think of words worthy of my feelings for him. Two days before the home-going, I was awakened at 2:00 a.m. by what I believe to be the Holy Spirit. I went into another room, and within an hour, I had written a poem that I felt was worthy enough to tell. The church clerk read the poem and mentioned that I wrote it. I was complemented for the words I wrote. All I could say was 'to God be the glory.'Here is the first poem I wrote, entitled 'Greet Us with A Smile.'Good night, Daddy, we’ll see you in a whileWhen we get to heaven, you’ll greet us with a smileMama, Kenny, Bruce, and the restWe want to thank you, Daddy, for giving us your bestGo ahead and sleep, Daddy. Go ahead and restWe’ll see you in the morning, though I must confessWe’re really going to miss you but only for a whileBecause when we get to heaven, you’ll greet us with a smileThank you, Jesus, for letting us borrow him this longHelp us to understand that it was time for him to go homeBut we all know it’s only for a whileBecause when we get to heaven, you’ll greet us with a smileWith all the love that a family could giveYou’ll always be with us because in us, you’ll always liveGo ahead and sleep, Daddy, but only for a whileBecause when we get to heaven, I know you’ll greet us with a smileIn loving memory of John Edwin Longuemire, Sr.May 31, 1926-June 19, 2007
