From the serene and educational environment of an all-boys school in Naples circa 1921, where the monks charged by the boys’ parents attempted to teach and educate their charges in lieu of the ever-present Fascist ideology rapidly taking over the country, to the teeming and brutal tenement streets of lower Manhattan Antonio Giancarlo, nee Piccolo would see his life catapult from honest Italian educated intellectual to one of Americas most feared Gangsters. Based on true events Antonio had at the very end of his life an opportunity to discover love surrounded by a new and ever-appreciating family. In the end, Antonio with this new and rewarding family coupled with the relationship between himself and young Richard Maguire simultaneously teaches Antonio that there is hope in God’s mercy while ultimately leaving Richard with so many new questions left to answer.
