This story is set in the late 1800’s through the turn of the century.Jennifer wants to lead a quiet, peaceful life; away from the New York social swirl she has known. She inherits a son (Chad) and daughter (Natalie) when she marries. One settled son and a headstrong and wild teenage girl, who gets herself into an extremely dangerous situation when she is sent to a finishing school in New Orleans. She falls in love with Jennifer’s brother (Emile), who can never marry her.This is a love story, but a love story about many loves and the repercussions of falling in love. One young man (Julian) endures an unrequited love for many years. Another must learn to live with the memory of a great, but never consumated love. Love, attempted murder, murder, kidnapping, fire, and stalking are all a part of this in this page turner.
